OctaFX (Elev8) Account Types: No Tiers, Just 3 Platforms (2026)
Why there is no Standard/Pro/ECN or Cent account — how OctaFX (Elev8) keeps one set of trading conditions and only lets you pick a platform: Elev8Trader, MT5 or MT4.
If you're hunting for an OctaFX "Pro", "ECN", "Standard" or "Cent" account, here's the honest answer up front: they don't exist. OctaFX (now Elev8) does not split clients into tiered account types the way many brokers do. Instead it offers one set of trading conditions and simply lets you choose a platform — Elev8Trader (the proprietary platform, formerly OctaTrader), MetaTrader 5 or MetaTrader 4. All three share the same $25 minimum deposit, the same commission-free floating spreads, the same swap-free terms and the same leverage. The only real differences are per-platform: how many instruments you can trade and the maximum order size. This guide walks through exactly what that means, why it's actually good news for beginners, and where the caveats are.

One account condition, three platforms — open a free account
There are no tiers to decode. Open a free OctaFX (Elev8) account in about 3 minutes, pick Elev8Trader, MT5 or MT4, and you're on the same conditions either way — start on demo first if you prefer.

The short answer: no tiers, three platforms
Most people arriving at this question expect the usual broker menu: a Standard account, a tighter-spread Pro or Raw account, maybe an ECN tier for scalpers and a Cent account for tiny deposits. OctaFX (Elev8) doesn't work like that.
What the official accounts page presents as "account types" are really three platform choices, all sharing one identical set of trading conditions:
- Elev8Trader — the broker's own proprietary platform (this is what used to be called OctaTrader; it's the same platform under the new brand).
- MetaTrader 5 (MT5) — the newer, multi-asset MetaTrader.
- MetaTrader 4 (MT4) — the classic forex-focused MetaTrader.
Pick any one of them and you get the same $25 minimum deposit, the same commission-free floating spreads, the same swap-free terms and the same leverage. There is no "upgrade" to a tighter-spread account to chase, and no premium tier locked behind a bigger deposit. The choice you're actually making is which trading software you prefer — not which pricing tier you qualify for.
That's unusual enough that it's worth stating plainly, because a lot of copied content online still describes OctaFX as if it had a tiered line-up. It doesn't. If you've traded elsewhere and you're looking for the "Pro" or "Raw" toggle, you can stop looking — everyone is on the same conditions here.
Why there's no Standard / Pro / ECN tier
Brokers that run tiered accounts usually do it to segment pricing: a Standard account with a wider all-in spread and no commission, versus a Raw/ECN account with near-zero spreads plus a per-lot commission. You choose your poison — pay in the spread, or pay in commission.
OctaFX (Elev8) collapses that whole decision. It runs a single commission-free model across the board: your cost is the floating spread only, with no separate per-trade ticket charge, on Elev8Trader, MT5 and MT4 alike. Because there's only one cost model, there's no reason to spin up a "Pro" or "ECN" tier — there's nothing to segment.
Independent reviews describe the line-up the same way: essentially one MT4 account and one MT5 account (plus the proprietary platform), all on identical conditions, rather than a ladder of tiers. So the honest framing is:
Unlike brokers that split clients into Standard / Pro / ECN / Cent tiers, OctaFX (Elev8) keeps one set of trading conditions and simply lets you pick your platform. There is no separate "Pro" or "Raw" upgrade to chase.
Is that better or worse? It depends what you value. If you're a high-volume scalper who wants raw sub-0.1-pip spreads with a commission, a dedicated ECN account elsewhere may suit you better — OctaFX doesn't offer that. But if you're a beginner or intermediate trader who just wants one simple, predictable cost (the spread) and no maze of account tiers to decode, the single-condition setup removes a genuine source of confusion. There's no risk of accidentally opening the "wrong" (more expensive) tier.
One thing that does not appear on the current line-up: any cTrader / "true ECN" account. Older OctaFX reviews mention a cTrader ECN option with spreads "from 0.0 pips," but the current official accounts comparison lists only Elev8Trader, MT5 and MT4 — no cTrader, no ECN account. Treat any "OctaFX ECN" content you find as stale.
"OctaFX cent account" — it doesn't exist
This one deserves its own section because it's a common search, and the answer is a clean no.
OctaFX (Elev8) does not offer a cent account. There is no cent-denominated account where your balance is shown in cents so that a $10 deposit reads as "1,000" and each trade risks fractions of a dollar. The lowest entry point is the standard account with a $25 minimum deposit — full stop.
If a third-party site tells you OctaFX has a "cent account," it's either confusing OctaFX with another broker or working from outdated information. On the current official line-up, there is one account condition set across three platforms, and none of them is a cent account.
What can you do instead if the appeal of a cent account was "trade tiny to learn safely"? Two honest options:
- Use the free demo (covered below) to practise with virtual funds and zero risk before committing real money.
- Trade micro lots on a real account. The minimum trade size is 0.01 lot on all three platforms, so even on a standard account you can keep each position genuinely small while you find your feet. For how position size translates into money at risk, see our guide to OctaFX leverage and margin.
So: no cent account, but a real demo plus 0.01-lot minimum trades cover most of the reasons people go looking for one.
The three platform choices, compared
Since the "account type" decision is really a platform decision, here's where the three genuinely differ. The trading conditions are identical (next section); what changes is the software, the number of instruments available on it, and the maximum order size.
| Platform | What it is | Instruments (approx.) | Max order size |
|---|---|---|---|
| Elev8Trader | Proprietary platform (formerly OctaTrader); web + mobile, built-in copy trading | around 104 | 50 lots |
| MetaTrader 5 | Newer multi-asset MetaTrader; widest instrument range here | around 263 | 500 lots |
| MetaTrader 4 | Classic forex-focused MetaTrader; the smallest range | around 77 | 200 lots |
Instrument counts and max order sizes per the broker's accounts-comparison page (observed 2026-07-11); treat the counts as "around" figures. Minimum trade size is 0.01 lot on all three.
How to read that:
- Want the most markets? MT5 carries the widest instrument range and the largest max order (500 lots).
- Want the broker's own experience and easy copy trading? Elev8Trader is the proprietary, mobile-first platform. It carries fewer instruments than MT5 but folds in the broker's copy-trading feature natively.
- Comfortable on classic MT4? MT4 is the most familiar to long-time forex traders and runs the huge library of MT4 expert advisors, at the cost of the smallest instrument range and no native multi-asset depth.
None of these choices changes your spread, your commission (there isn't one), your minimum deposit or your leverage. For a fuller walkthrough of downloading and using each one — desktop, Android, iOS and the no-download web terminal — see our OctaFX apps and platforms guide. You can also open more than one: from the Personal Area you can create additional accounts on different platforms whenever you like.
What's identical across all three
This is the heart of the "no tiers" story. Whichever platform you pick, these conditions are the same — there is no cheaper or more expensive version:
| Condition | Applies to Elev8Trader, MT5 and MT4 |
|---|---|
| Minimum deposit | $25 (USD) |
| Commission | $0 — commission-free on all platforms |
| Typical EUR/USD spread | Floating, from around 0.6 pips (best-case "from" figure; ~0.6–1.1 pips typical range) |
| Minimum trade size | 0.01 lot |
| Swap-free / Sharia-compliant | Yes, by default on every account |
| Leverage | Same tier applies to all platforms (up to 1:500 global; 1:1000 in some regions/promotions; 1:30 in the EU) |
Figures from the broker's published terms and review sources (observed 2026-07-11). Spreads are floating/variable — the live number in your platform is the one that binds.
A few honest notes on that table, because the "from" figures deserve context:
- Spread is your only trading cost, and it floats. Commission-free doesn't mean free — it means the cost lives entirely in the spread. "From 0.6 pips" is a best-case floor, not a promise; the real spread widens on news and thin hours. We break this down in the OctaFX spread explainer.
- The $25 minimum can vary by payment method and region. Local-currency equivalents apply in some countries, and the exact floor depends on the funding method. The minimum deposit guide covers the nuances.
- Leverage varies by entity and region. Never treat 1:1000 as universal — it's available only in certain regions/promotions, the global standard is up to 1:500, and EU clients are capped at 1:30. Leverage amplifies losses as much as gains; size positions with that in mind. Full detail in the leverage and margin guide.
The practical upshot: because pricing doesn't change between platforms, you can choose purely on which software fits how you trade, without worrying that you're leaving a better price on the table.
Demo vs real account
The one genuine "type" distinction OctaFX (Elev8) does make is demo versus real — and it applies within each platform, not as a separate tier.
A free demo account lets you practise with virtual funds under real market conditions — live prices, real spreads, no real money at risk. You open one from the Personal Area: log in, scroll down the Dashboard to "Your Accounts," press Create Account, choose a platform (Elev8Trader, MT5 or MT4), then press Demo. You can open as many demo accounts as you want.

Two things worth knowing about the demo:
- There's no fixed starting balance to quote. Rather than a locked "$10,000 demo," the balance is virtual funds you can top up from the Top-up button whenever you run low — so ignore any article that states a specific demo balance figure.
- Demo accounts expire on inactivity, and the window depends on the platform: MT4 = 8 days, MT5 = 30 days, and Elev8Trader = unlimited (all triggered by inactivity, not a hard calendar limit). If you want a demo that won't lapse while you're away, Elev8Trader is the one to open.
A real account uses the same platform choice and the same conditions in the table above, but requires funding (the $25 minimum) and identity verification (KYC) before you can trade live. Verification is done at Profile → Verification with a government-issued photo ID; the broker states it usually takes a few minutes but can take up to 24 hours under load.

Our advice is the ordinary sensible one: start on demo, get comfortable with your chosen platform and with reading live spreads, then move to a small real account. For a step-by-step on the demo, see the demo account guide.
Base currency: USD confirmed, EUR flagged
A quick but important detail, because sources disagree and we'd rather be precise than tidy.
USD is the confirmed base currency. The current official Elev8 accounts page lists the base currency as USD, and the broker's own currencies FAQ states that you open a USD account and can deposit in any currency — the broker converts your funds into USD at the payment provider's exchange rate.
EUR is less clear-cut. Older OctaFX-era sources (and some general references) list both USD and EUR as base currencies, but the current official Elev8 USD-account FAQ confirms USD only. So the honest position is:
USD is the confirmed base currency; EUR may be available depending on entity or region — check the broker's current terms before you rely on it.
We deliberately won't assert that EUR is universally available today, because the current official pages don't support that. If holding a EUR-denominated account matters to you, confirm it directly with the broker for your region rather than trusting a blog (including this one) that quotes an older figure. For most traders this is a minor point — funds are converted to USD anyway — but if you're funding in euros, the conversion step and its exchange rate are worth checking so you're not surprised by the converted balance.
Swap-free is default — no separate Islamic account
Because there are no tiers, there's also no separate "Islamic account" type to open — and you don't need one. OctaFX (Elev8) states that all its accounts are swap-free by default: in the broker's own words, its accounts are "already swap-free and Sharia-compliant," so you don't turn swaps off manually and you "do not pay or receive any interest" on overnight positions. This applies across all three platforms — Elev8Trader, MT5 and MT4 — on the same terms.
Importantly, the broker states it charges no swap and no alternative overnight fee in place of swap on its accounts — so there's no hidden admin charge substituting for the interest it doesn't levy. (The generic industry definition of a "swap-free" account sometimes involves a fixed fee instead of swap; that's the industry definition, not OctaFX/Elev8's own charge.)
One caveat we hold to firmly: whether leveraged CFD/forex trading is itself permissible under Islamic law is a matter of scholarly opinion and your own judgement. The broker offers swap-free accounts and describes them as Sharia-compliant — but we won't declare the trading "halal" or "haram" as fact. If that's your reason for looking, read our dedicated discussion: is OctaFX halal?
Bottom line
OctaFX (Elev8) has no account tiers — no Standard, Pro, ECN or Cent — and no cent account. What looks like an "account types" menu is really a platform menu: Elev8Trader, MT5 or MT4, all sharing the same $25 minimum, the same commission-free floating spreads (from ~0.6 pips), the same swap-free terms and the same leverage. The only real differences are per-platform: instrument count and maximum order size. For most traders that simplicity is a feature, not a limitation — you choose your software, not your price. Start on a free demo (top-up virtual funds; Elev8Trader's demo doesn't expire), then move to a small real account when you're ready.
And the standing caveat we repeat across this site: OctaFX/Elev8 is offshore-regulated only — Mauritius FSC and Comoros MISA, with the former CySEC (EU) entity not carried into Elev8, so there's no EU/ESMA protection. A simple, single-condition account structure is about convenience, not about the strength of your protection. Keep those two questions separate when you decide.

How many account types does OctaFX (Elev8) have?
It doesn't have tiered account types at all. Instead you pick one of three platforms — Elev8Trader (formerly OctaTrader), MetaTrader 5 or MetaTrader 4 — and all three share identical trading conditions: the same $25 minimum deposit, commission-free floating spreads, swap-free terms and leverage. The only differences are per-platform (instrument count and maximum order size).
Does OctaFX have a Standard, Pro or ECN account?
No. There is no Standard/Pro/ECN tier ladder. OctaFX (Elev8) runs one commission-free cost model across Elev8Trader, MT5 and MT4, so there's no tighter-spread "Pro" or "Raw" upgrade to chase. Older reviews mentioning a cTrader/ECN account are stale — it's not on the current line-up.
Is there an OctaFX cent account?
No — OctaFX (Elev8) does not offer a cent account. The lowest entry point is the standard account with a $25 minimum deposit. If you want to trade small, you can practise on the free demo or trade micro lots (0.01 lot minimum) on a real account instead.
What's the difference between the demo and real accounts?
A demo uses virtual funds under real market conditions with no money at risk; you can open several and top up the balance. Demo accounts expire on inactivity — MT4 after 8 days, MT5 after 30 days, and Elev8Trader unlimited. A real account uses the same conditions but needs funding (the $25 minimum) and ID verification (KYC) before you can trade live.
What base currency do OctaFX (Elev8) accounts use?
USD is the confirmed base currency — you open a USD account and deposits in other currencies are converted to USD at the payment provider's rate. EUR is listed in some older OctaFX-era sources but is not confirmed on the current official USD-account FAQ, so it may be region/entity-dependent — check the broker's current terms before relying on it.
